Ellay's Disco cover the whole of Essex, Kent and London, and we will travel further afield if required. A few things to ask the DJ or mobile disco you book ? Can a play list be provided? Does the disco have spare equipment? Do they have insurance? Can you meet them to discuss your plans? Can you use a microphone for speeches? Do they have previous reviews that are recent ? Remember a DJ can have a bad day just like anyone else, so recent feedback allows you to have a better knowledge of their service and reliability. When making a booking, ensure you sign a booking form/contract reading all the information provided so that both you and the DJ have a permanent record of the booking made. Quotes and Prices Provide information that will make the quote accurate. The Party Venue When looking for a venue to have a reception or party several factors need considering. Price , location, facilities, parking, size would all need to be taken into consideration. Firstly decide on your budget. Make sure the venues you consider are in a location not only suitable for you but situated in a good location for guests too. Ensure parking is available and book a venue that is large enough to accommodate the guests you invite. Questions to ask your prospective venue manager; Can smoke machines be used at the venue ? (Smoke and haze machines will transform the lighting used creating diffused lighting effects which really do add to the effect of modern disco lighting). Does the Hotel or Hall have blackout blind ? ( no point in a large light show in the summer if they don’t). Up Lighting, does the venue have power at the points you want the lighting placed,think of your guests, you don’t want cables running where it can be a hazard. Do they require insurance from the disco ? What time do they have a music license for ? ( no point booking a disco to 1am if the license is midnight). Can the DJ have access early to set up the equipment ? Do they provide a dance floor ? Are sound limiters used at the venue ? Why Book A Disco? What areas do you cover?
We cover all areas roughly within a 50-mile radius of Wickford Essex, including Kent, London, Hertfordshire, Suffolk. we may be able to play outside these areas; please contact me to discuss.
How many people can you cater for?
Our setup’s are ideal for small to medium to large-sized venues, like village halls, hotel function rooms and marquees. As a general rule of thumb, any venue with a maximum dance floor capacity (not room capacity) of 100 people will be fine.
What kind of music do you play?
We specialise in mainstream Top 40 hits from the 1950s to the present day. if you're after a wide variety of chart hits, including Rock and Roll, Motown, 50s/60s/70s/80s/90s dance and even a bit of cheese and the good old party songs, do get in touch!
We can also play House,garage and mainstream dance and old Skool, reggae and Rnb, if requested.
On booking confirmation and receipt of the agreed deposit, you will be sent a personal play list link which will give you access to our extensive play list.
Do you take requests?
Absolutely. we send you a playlist link in order for you to select your own playlist, But please bear in mind that we may not be able to accommodate all requests, particularly if the song is inappropriate for the event or if it is likely to clear the dance floor!
Some people pick only some and some people pick the full nights list, we are happy either way or alternatively you can rely on our 24 years of experience in top flight entertainment. Please also remember your guest may also like to make requests on the night to which we are happy to accommodate.
How much talking do you do on the microphone?
That is entirely up to you. Some parties go with an absolute bang when the DJ helps entertain, and adds a certain something to the event. But some people prefer the DJ to stay quiet and just play the music. Either is good for us, and we can discuss this before the event.
Can we use the microphone for speeches or to say a few words during the event to thank people?
Yes of course, please ask if you would like to do this. But it's not available for guests to sing along to their favourite songs, unless this is pre agreed and arranged at booking stage.
Do you do kids' birthday parties?
Yes, as long as there are adults present too. We can cater for all ages.
What will the DJ wear?
We will normally wear a black trousers and a black T-shirt. However, we can dress to fit the event by prior arrangement (within reason!), including black tie if required.
How much do you charge?
As every event is different, you can request a quote here through our client zone below, and we will give you a personal quote. we believe we are competitive, but if your after price over quality and experience, we may not be the one for you.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, a non-refundable fee agreed at the time of booking is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due on the day of the event/function prior to the entertainment commencing .
How can I pay?
The easiest way to pay is by PayPal we supply a secure payment gateway link at time of booking. This is the safest method of payment and allows you to pay by credit or debit card. You don't even need a PayPal account yourself to do this. You can also pay by bank transfer or cheque if you prefer, al payment methods will be made clear at time of booking.
Will I get a confirmation if I book with you?
Yes. As soon as we receive your deposit I will send you a confirmation by email.
How much time do you need to set up?
We need access to the venue 60 minutes prior to the start of the performance. we need 30 mins after the performance to derig and pack away.
Can you set up earlier in the afternoon ready for the evening?
Yes, by prior arrangement.
We're having such a good time and would like you to go on for longer. Is this possible?
Yes, as long as the venue allows it. Come and speak to me before the end of the event. Charges for overtime are outlined in the Terms and Conditions.
Are you safe?
Yes, all equipment is purchased brand new and is PAT tested annually. we carry out all the normal H&S checks before performance.
What is PAT testing?
PAT stands for Portable Appliance Testing, and is carried out to make sure that electrical equipment is safe. a copy of our register can be sent on request if required by your venue management.
Are you insured?
Yes, we possess public liability insurance (PLI) of £10 million. a copy of this can be requested if needed to supply to your venue management
Are you legal?
Yes, all our music is legally sourced and we are fully insured.
